RYLANDS boss Darren Davies felt his side deserved a point from their encounter at Linotype Cheadle.

Goals from Joe Campbell and Kayle Power late in either half condemned Blues to a 2-0 defeat against the title-chasers, their first away defeat of the season.

However, Davies felt his side could have snatched a draw if a bit more luck had fallen their way.

“We played well against an excellent side and I thought that we did enough to deserve a point out of the game,” he said.

“I felt that they probably edged the first half but I was disappointed to concede from a set-piece and so close to half time.

“We were the better team in the second half and on another day, Mark Keddie’s strike flies in to the top corner instead of hitting the bar.”

After a closely-fought first half, the hosts took the lead on the stroke of half time when Campbell found space at the far post from a corner to lash home a shot.

Davies introduced Keddie at for the second half and it was he who went closest to the next goal when his 20-yard effort smashed off the crossbar.

That was to prove costly as Power capitalised on a mistake from James Sinker to run through on goal and calmly beat Rylands keeper Conor Yarwood in injury time.
