The primrose and blue army headed south on August Bank Holiday weekend with the hope of seeing their team lift a fourth Challenge Cup title in seven years.
Those hopes were at their peak when, after a trademark Daryl Clark break, Ben Currie slid over to give Wolves a 10-point lead at Wembley.
However, it was not to be as opponents Hull FC roared back to take a 12-10 victory and their first ever win at the national stadium.
