LYMM Ladies were the only side to get their game on at the weekend, but they returned from Yorkshire having been beaten 3-1 by Leeds Adel.

In a North Women’s League fixture that was originally postponed two weeks ago, the hosts went ahead early on as they looked to utilise their superior experience.

However Lymm hit back when a penalty corner found Lisa Hartley-Woodrow, and she made no mistake to equalise.

Pressure followed from the home side, and they duly retook the lead before the break.

The second half was a tight affair as both sides created chances, but Adel added a third goal late on to put the game out of Lymm’s reach.

They are back in action on Saturday when they host Didsbury Greys, push back 12.15pm.

The men’s first team are also at home this weekend when they take on Urmston on Saturday, push back 3.30pm.

Meanwhile Warrington Hockey Club sides were also hampered by the weather, and their men’s second team were the only ones to play.

However, and despite a spirited performance, they were beaten 4-0 by Bolton’s thirds.

Steve Fiddy and Billy Gilbert both put in good shifts in defence, while goalkeeper Tom Lloyd made a string of fine saves and almost kept out a penalty flick.
