Stockport 12 Lymm 66

LYMM romped to an expected victory on Saturday as they coasted past Stockport, National League Three North’s bottom side.

Travelling to face a side without a point to their name from 11 games before Saturday, the visitors were always expected to record a victory and Adam Fletcher’s side did so in style.

Cormac Nolan and Richard McEvoy both crossed twice as Lymm ran in ten tries overall to put them eighth in the table ahead of Saturday’s visit of struggling Morley, kick off 2.15pm.

After Joe Denman had eased any fears of complacency by crossing in the first two minutes, Ollie Higginson then bludgeoned his way through to take the score to 12-0.

Nolan and McEvoy both crossed for their first scores to give Lymm their four-try bonus point within the first 15 minutes.

An infringement from an attacking scrum brought Lymm a penalty try as the points continued to flow freely before Jake Ashall sliced through the home defence to add his name to the scoresheet.

That try took the score to 40-0, with Lymm’s determined play in both attack and defence making the game safe despite Stockport finally getting on the board before half-time with a converted try from Jordan Pearson.

Stockport improved after the break but Lymm continued to score, with Nolan and McEvoy both getting on the scoresheet for the second time.

Substitute Tom Baker crossed before the hosts got on the board again through Harry Alderson, but the final word went to Lymm as hooker Ross White crossed with the final play of the match.

Lymm: Dan Horton, Ross White, Jordan Widdrington, Alex Kaihau, Mike Auden, Jake Ashall, Matty Connelly, Adam Bray; Andy Davies, Will Titherington; Cormac Nolan, Ollie Higginson, Richard McAvoy, Joe Denman, Tom Bray. Subs: Jack Harper, Tom Baker, James Yates.

FOUR tries from winger Jorge Reynolds helped Lymm’s seconds to a convincing victory over their Stockport counterparts.

After Reynolds had opened the scoring by crossing between the posts early on, Stockport hit back with two tries to take a 12-7 lead.

However, that was as good as it got for the visitors as Lymm took full command.

Reynolds again showed his pace to outstrip the defence to edge his side ahead at the break before Zack Lythgoe brushed off several tackles to score early in the second half.

Pacey winger Reynolds completed his hat-trick before having the last word with his fourth score, either side of a Toby Phillips try.

Lymm: A Norcott, D Coon, J Grant, Z Lythgoe, H Baldwin, M Hand, R Forrest, S Bytheway; T Phillips, O Lancaster; J Lester, N Taylor, L Titherington, J Reynolds, L Richards.
