CHESHIRE Wire under 16s basketball team produced a masterclass to overhaul Cheshire Phoenix Juniors 92-18 at Birchwood Tennis and Leisure Complex on Saturday.

They hold third place in the North Premier Division National League as a result but bowed out of the National Cup the following day, when they were missing some players, due to a 92-59 home loss to Manchester Magic.

Cheshire Wire’s under 18s sides won against Cheshire Phoenix Juniors II and Preston Pride on Sunday. The club’s under 14s Green and White teams were overcome by Manchester Giants teams.

Green were hopeful of revenge after losing at home earlier in the season but during a physical encounter the opposition proved to be just too strong.

The White side put in a spirited performance by holding their ground in the first half but were heavily overcome in the final quarter.

Cheshire Wire Premier under 14s fought hard against Leeds Force to reduce the final deficit to eight points.
