WARRINGTON’S men’s first team had a welcome return to form on Saturday as they secured an impressive 4-2 win at Didsbury Northern fifths.

After they fell behind from a short corner, Warrington hit back quickly and were back on level terms through Adam Garrod’s goal.

However, the home side re-took the lead with a breakaway strike but this seemed to spark the visitors into life.

Tom Lloyd deflected in their second equaliser and they didn’t look back from there as Rob Powell and Garrod’s second earned them a hard-fought win.

The men’s seconds were less successful in their own match at Didsbury Northern, going down 5-0 to the club’s sixth team.

Nick Bottomley made a promising debut on the wing in an encouraging first half performance from the visitors, but a goal from the hosts early in the second half allowed them to dominate from then on.

The women’s first team were made to rue missed chances as they went down to a strong Oxton side.

Emma Barlow finished off after Steph Rawlins had a shot saved to get Warrington on the scoresheet but they could not prevent a 5-1 defeat.

The second team were also beaten in an exciting encounter with neighbours Lymm fourths.

Warrington trailed 2-0 early on but goals from Vicky Stout and Jess Palmer brought them level before Lymm found a late winner.
