Drighlington 38 Rylands Sharks 10
RYLANDS’ promotion hopes are over for another season after they were comfortably beaten in the NCL Division Three semi-finals by Drighlington.
In what proved to be head coach Matt Wilson’s final game in charge, the Sharks started superbly and built up a 10-0 lead after half an hour.
Rob Campbell crossed the whitewash for a try converted by Jack Lewis, who also added two penalties, but the hosts were level by half time.
The Bradford-based side cantered away after the break with 28 unanswered points to end the Sharks’ season.
Wilson will now step aside from his coaching role, with Eddie Harris and Anthony Braide taking the reins from next season.
