A DEPLETED Eagle side suffered a heavy defeat to South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two high-flyers Winnington Park on Saturday after travelling with just 15 players.
Despite their obvious disadvantage, Eagle battled manfully and managed to get themselves on the board when a mistake from the home side allowed David Heathwood to pick up a loose ball and sprint in for a breakaway try, with Kieron Thomas adding the conversion.
Sadly, however, that was as good as it got as several sin-binnings hamstrung the visitors and Park cantered to a crushing win, running in twelve tries in total.
Eagle are on the road again on Saturday as they travel to face Dukinfield.
