Folly Lane 27 Latchford Albion 8.

ALBION’S promotion push suffered another set-back on Saturday as they were beaten at Folly Lane despite taking an early lead.

Carwyn Chamberlain gave the visitors the perfect start when he intercepted a loose pass and set off on a 70-metre run to opening the scoring.

However, that didn’t put the hosts of their stride as they hit back with two quick tries before Liam Kennedy was sin-binned for Albion.

That didn’t deter them, though, and Chamberlain showed great strength to hold off two defenders and score in the corner to keep them in touch at the interval.

Sadly, that was as good as it got for Lee Smith’s men as they conceded a try and a drop goal early in the second half before Kennedy was yellow carded for a second time.

A tiring Albion outfit conceded two more tries late on as they now look ahead to their visit to league leaders Orrell St James on Saturday.
