ON the back of their Warrington Cup semi-final defeat to Rylands, Crosfields suffered their first league defeat of the season as Eastmoor left Hood Lane with the spoils on Saturday.

The defeat means Soap’s lead at the top of National Conference League Division Three is cut to three points.

Tony Benson’s side started positively and took the lead when Billy Sheen’s cross-field kick was collected well by Nathan Taylor, who scored in the corner.

Jacob McDermott went over for the visitors shortly after, with Ady Mulachy’s conversion edging Eastmoor ahead before Jamie Dodds went in between the posts to stretch their lead.

Sheen was the creative hub for Soap again as his clever kick was pounced on by Ash Cornelia for a try, with Jack Reid’s conversion reducing the gap to two points.

The momentum then swung the hosts’ way as Matty Barber’s offload sent Hayden James through between the posts.

Dragons full back Michael Jedynak crashed over to put his side back in front before Sam Woodall’s try snatched the lead back for Soap.

However, Dodds scored again late on, with Mulachy adding a drop goal to seal an impressive win for the Yorkshiremen.
