WARRINGTON Wolves men’s handball team have been in the trophies again as they return from a successful outing in London.
They beat London GD 29-21 to win a fourth consecutive England Handball National Cup at the capital’s Copper Box Arena.
The victory denied their opponents a league and cup double and coach Bill Baillie was beaming with pride after the match.
“GD are very experienced but we had youth on our side,” he said.
“I’m very proud of the team and I think this is our best achievement because this is our youngest team to date.”
Sadly, the girls under 18 team couldn’t make it a double success as they lost their final 23-11 to north-west rivals NEM Hawks.
