EAGLE Sports enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Cheshire League the past week, losing 3-0 at home to leaders Knutsford in midweek beating third-placed Whaley Bridge on Saturday.

Owen Ellis bagged a brace in a 2-1 win against the high-flyers.

Greenalls were involved in two six-goal thrillers with Ben Slater, Lee Vaughan and Danny Toone on target in a 3-3 draw with Poynton.

Vaughan’s hat-trick was a highlight when they shared six goals with Crewe FC at the weekend.

Grappenhall failed to rain on Wythenshawe Town’s parade in League One, their opponents celebrating promotion as a result of a 6-0 win on Wednesday.

Grappers went on to lose 1-0 at Golborne on Saturday.

A late equaliser from Sean Willott ensured Moore United earn a 1-1 at FC St Helens in League Two, while Warrington Town reserves survived being reduced to nine men when Rhys Bowers’ double saw them win 2-1 at Cheadle reserves last Tuesday.

Chris Bibby and Adam Campbell both saw red.

Moore reserves romped into the President’s Cup quarter-finals, and a date with either Greenalls reserves or Unicorn, following a 6-0 win over Malpas reserves.

Richard Hill grabbed a hat-trick.

Grappenhall reserves went down 4-0 at Styal’s second string in Reserves League One, while Rylands made it through to the final of the Reserve Division Challenge Cup with a 4-0 home win over Billinge.

Liam Barnett, George Farrelly, Sean Preston and an own goal sealed Rylands’ progress to the final, where they will face either Sandbach United reserves or Knutsford A.
