WARRINGTON Athletics Club won medals at the Cheshire Cross Country Championships at Reaseheath Agricultural College in Nantwich.

Lauren Ferris and Sam Evans collected individual gold in their races, while India Hayes chipped in with a silver and there were bronzes for Jack Stubbings, Lucas Hayes and Tony McCarthy among five team placings.

Ferris' victory came in the under 17s women's race. Her 17mins 47secs was backed up by Jasmin Dobson (18mins 47secs) 10th and Lauren Goddard (19mins 16secs) 11th to take the team silver.

Evans' gold in 14mins 55secs also contributed to team silver, with support from Jordan Jones (15mins 38secs) in fourth and Joe Buckley (16mins 19secs) in ninth.

Toby Abbott and Tom Hurrell had a race-long tussle finishing 31st and 32nd in 19mins 57secs and 20mins 00secs.

India Hayes' individual silver came in the under 15s girls' race, her 13mins 28secs backed up by Amy Nuttall (14mins 3secs) in seventh and Isabelle Trevithick (14mins 32secs) in 11th securing team silver.

Stubbings' 19mins 23secs earned him bronze in the men's race, while Sam Rostron was eighth in 20mins 48secs.

It was silver for the under 13s boys, with Lucas Hayes claiming bronze in 9mins 34secs and followed home by fifth-placed Joe Scutt (9mins 50secs) and Isaaq Ataullah (10mins 15secs) in 10th.

The B team of Joe Roberts (10mins 29secs) in 18th, Matthew Quayle (11mins 33secs) in 32nd and Alexander Allen (11mins 35secs) in 33rd finished ninth.

Tony McCarthy was 83rd in the senior men's race in 42mins 29secs, placing him third in the over 55s age group.

Alysha Goddard ran well to finish fourth in the under 20s women’s race in 24mins 38seconds, while Daniel Evans was fifth in the men’s race in 24 mins 24secs.

The under 13s girls bagged team gold courtesy of Siobhan Gregory (10mins 50secs) in sixth, Rebecca Nixon (11mins 11secs) in seventh and Ashley Nemits (11mins 32secs) in 10th.

Molly Wormald led home the bronze-winning under 11s girls' team in eighth spot with 10mins 14secs, followed by Eva Ferris (10mins 22secs) in 10th and Orla Gregory (10mins 43secs) in 12th.

The B team of Lucie Davies (10mins 51secs) in 14th, Lily Briscoe (11mins 02secs) in 17th and Shauna Clarke (12mins 21secs) in 41st were eighth.

In the boys' race 15th-placed Rhys Hopkins led the team home in 9mins 54secs, followed over the line by Reece Connell (9mins 57secs) in 17th and Danny Harland (10mins 28secs) in 25th as the team sealed sixth.

Finley Smith, 27th in 10mins 30secs and Marcus Trevithick, 34th, in 11mins 15secs completed the squad.
