TEAMS at two bowls clubs have announced dates of annual meetings.

Players in Richmonds Bowls Club’s A and B sides will get together at their Richmond Street base in Latchford on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Then on Wednesday, January 20, at 8pm, Penketh Tavern St Josephs A team members will congregate at Grangestone Road Tavern.

Members, bowlers and any potential new ones should attend.

Meanwhile, Bewsey Park Winter Bowls League action continued over the festive period.

In the latest event, Rob Lawrenson was the winner of the Handicap, with John Gatley the runner up. M Humphrys and M Maloney fell in the semi finals.

Jade Chapman came out on top in the Plate competition, outgunning John Garratt Snr. They knocked out Marie Bacon and C Molphy at the last-four stage.

It proved to be a double for Lawrenson, as he also won the previous week’s Litton Trophy at the expense of Damien Morrison. Their progress from the semi finals blocked a potential showdown between the Garratts, Snr and Jnr.

The Christmas Trophy was lifted by M Humphrys, with Lawrenson the runner up, while Morrison and Ray Nevins were semi finalists. M Widocks beat Sandra Gilfedder in the Plate final.
