ORFORD FC continued fine form by firing six goals past Belfry FC in the Liverpool County FA Junior Cup.

Away trips in this competition are notoriously difficult for Warrington and District League sides but Orford looked comfortable in this clash.

John Farrell opened the scoring with two goals before man-of-the-match Liam McLoughlin netted a hat-trick in consecutive games.

There was still time for Phil Jones to score the goal of the game after great work from Ryan Jones down the left.

Burtonwood Albion also progressed with a 10-0 stuffing of Liverpool Hibernia.

Josh Dixon netted four times and the other goals came from Ste Murphy, two, Craig Spurling, two, Alex Brisco and Simon Cade.

Bruche, with 12 players unavailable, bowed out of the LCFA Intermediate Cup with a 3-2 loss at Skelmersdale outfit Mitch.

It took time for Bruche, 2-0 down at the break, to settle but were vastly improved in the second period.

They got back into the game thanks to forward Richard Keates with a well-taken finish.

But Mitch restored the two-goal cushion and Thomas Perrins’ response from a free kick was unable to affect the outcome.

Eagle JFC, with manager Chris Rodger featuring on the field due to absences, were knocked out of the LCFA Intermediate Cup 4-1 at home by Widnes side Wellington.

The visitors led 3-0 inside 20 minutes but a response from Matty Urey after a strong counter attack gave Eagle a lifeline.

Ten minutes before the end a fourth Wellington goal settled matters.

Meanwhile, Crosfields got their first win of the season with an emphatic 12-1 success against Newton in Division Five.

Alex Astbury scored six goals but a man-of-the-match performance from goalkeeper Ross Ashton helped take Crosfields out of sight.

Culcheth-based Village Reserves bagged their second win of the season 4-1 at third-placed Liverpool Arms.

Aaron Nixon, Nathan Bibby and Alex Brookes hit the mark alongside an own goal.
