Wigan St Patricks 48 Latchford 28

LATCHFORD paid the price for not having a game for five weeks when St Pats scored three tries in the last eight minutes to take the victory and give an unflattering look in the scoreboard.

Albion were quick out of the blocks and were rewarded when Jamie Birchall crossed with Lewis Wightman converting, but the hosts hit back with two quickfire tries before Connor Muir levelled the game up when he raced in from 40 yards.

On a blistering hot day Latchford tired and St Pats ran in two further scores to lead at the break 24-10.

The impressive Liam Sargeant reduced the deficit but again Wigan responded with a try.

Latchford reduced the score to 30-28 with scores from Tom Crosby and Jon Ward scoring his first try for the club and despite pressurising the gone defence they could not cross.

But when St Pats scored a breakaway try the win was sealed and with Albion out on their feet two scores in the closing minutes made the scoreline flattering to the hosts.
