Warrington Town Res 4 Moore United 1

WARRINGTON Town Reserves enjoyed a solid start to their Cheshire League Two campaign with a home win against Moore United on Saturday.

A double from Chris Bandell as well as goals for Brad Parker and substitute Rhys Bowers got Town off the mark with three points as they look to bounce back to League One at the first attempt.

It took seven minutes for Steve Hayes' side to open the scoring, as Sam Spencer played in Bandell for his first.

Parker added a second for the hosts on 33 minutes, but the visitors hit back moments later to leave the 'derby' clash poised at 2-1 at half time.

However it was Town Reserves who took the ascendency after the interval with a solid start to the half that saw Bandell grab his second of the game and the hosts' third following some sloppy Moore United defending.

Warrington preceded to control the remainder of the half and put the game beyond doubt with five minutes remaining when Bowers hammered home from the spot.
