APPLETON Tigers women's side had mixed fortunes against Didsbury.

They achieved a 30-run win to stay top of the T20 East Division.

Laura Jackson, 23, Holly McCurrie, 25 retired, and a quickfire 25 from Sami Fowler steered Appleton to 106 for 5.

Fowler’s two wickets kept Didsbury in check early on but runs kept ticking over until three scalps from Kaytlin Watterson left Didsbury 76 all out.

Appleton’s lead in Division One of the Cheshire Women's League was cut to eight points when they lost to Didsbury.

Spinner Olivia Horsfield was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets as Didsbury reached 105 for 8.

Fowler continued her excellent form with the bat, registering 40 of Appleton’s total of 71.
