Lee scoops gold at Cheshire and Manchester Championships
A GREAT Sankey High School student scooped a gold medal at the Cheshire and Greater Manchester Championships on Sunday.
Owen Lee won the 800m in the under 17s age category at Trafford Athletics Club in Manchester.
The 16-year-old Liverpool Harriers athlete, who lives in Great Sankey, clocked a personal best time of one minute 59 seconds to clinch first place.
It marks the continuation of a successful season so far for the teenager, who finished third in the Northern Athletics Championships in Sheffield in January and fourth at the BMC Sheffield Open.
