Stanningley 22 Woolston Rovers 12

WOOLSTON Rovers suffered a second successive defeat when they lost at unbeaten Stanningley on Saturday.

The game ebbed and flowed but the home side were the most clinical.

Only two tries were scored in the first half.

Rovers crossed first when Ryan Cosgrove's fine run led to centre Paul Berry dummying his way round the cover to score.

Stanningley started the second half 6-4 ahead but Rovers regained the lead after 47 minutes when another good run from Cosgrove again created room for Berry to touch down with a stretch over his head.

But three home tries in a little more than 10 minutes sealed the outcome before Rovers got a consolation try three minutes from time through Lewis Hoarty off a Mark Robinson pass after Jack Sherratt broke clear.

Rovers' man of the match was Matt Clarke.
