WOOLSTON Rovers entertain league newcomers Dewsbury Moor Maroons in National Conference League Division Three at Monks Sports Club on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.

Rovers will be looking to make it a hat-trick of opening wins to the season at a Hillock Lane venue that head coach John Fieldhouse wants to turn into a fortress.

“I believe that we have the capability to win all of our home games and then if we can be victorious in 50 percent of our away games then that should cement our top-four target for the season," he said.

"Dewsbury will be an unknown quantity for us as they are new to the league and have won one and lost one so far. We will be concentrating on our own game and if we play like we have done in our previous two then I am confident we can get the right result.”

Rovers A travel to Oldham St Annes A on Saturday in North West Men's League Division Two hoping to build on an encouraging victory at Bank Quay Bulls in their opening league game of the season.

Coach Andy Addison said: “It had been a frustrating time for us with having had no game for a month but the lads really expressed themselves on Saturday and showed some good qualities.

"We will need to be fully focused this week as it is always a tough place to go to but if we can complete our sets and remain strong in defence then we can be a handful for any team.

"The lads are training well and really enjoying themselves so that gives us a great base to work from.”
