WARRINGTON Hockey Club recorded a clean sweep of wins at the weekend.

The men’s first team showed great determination, coming from behind twice to beat top of the league Leyland and Chorley 4-3.

Steve Worrall netted twice and Dave Yates scored with a reverse hit through the keeper's legs, setting it up for a thrilling finish when Tom Yates deflected in the winner five minutes from time.

The men’s seconds beat Chester sixths 6-0, having now conceded the fewest goals out of all 172 teams in the North West Hockey League.

Silas Heys got them up and running with the first goal before Mike Vickers slotted in two cool finishes on his return from injury.

AJ Edwards got another and Matt Pettitt completed the scoring with two.

The women’s teams both had comfortable wins over Golborne.

A player-of-the-match performance from Louise Sullivan inspired the firsts to a 4-0 win.

Steph Rawlins scored a hat-trick and Sally Fraser got one.

However the biggest winners were the women's seconds, who clocked up nine goals including one from Natasha Vincent who started the game as goalkeeper before switching to outfield.

Vicky Stout and Jess Palmer each got two, with Laura Page, Emma Frew, Olivia Mason and player-of-the-match Chloe Sutch also on target.
