LYMM’S Tom Murray finished among the prize money during his first European Tour outing of 2015.
Murray finished tied 62nd in the South Africa Open Championship to claim € 2,650 in prize money, his biggest to date.
The 24-year-old, who was tied 10th on the opening day, made the cut at level 44th when he finished the second round at Johannesburg’s Glendower Golf Club course four over par.
He continued to slip down the leaderboard on day three, finishing five over par and tied 63rd going into the final day.
Despite carding 68 yesterday and finishing on 11 over par for the weekend, the Warrington golfer was able to climb one place to finish joint 62nd.
Murray will have been relieved to have claimed a prize-money spot, but it was a disappointing finish after an eagle on Thursday’s second hole, a 557-yard par three, appeared to have set the tone.
England’s Andy Sullivan took the win on 11 under from Charl Schwartzel.
