TOM Murray has made the cut for the two remaining days of the South African Open Championship but has slipped down the leaderboard.

The Lymm golfer has dropped from tied 10th to level 44th after finishing the second round four over par at Glendower Golf Club in Johannesburg.

The 24-year-old, contesting the second event of his maiden European Tour, managed three under yesterday when an eagle on the second hole, a 557-yard par three, set the tone.

Yesterday's joint leader Jbe Kruger of South Africa had an even worse time of it today, going round in an additional 14 shots and crashing to joint 58th.

England's Andy Sullivan still sets the pace though, eight under par compared to Murray's one over.

Play continues tomorrow.
