Billinge 1 Rylands 3

DAVE Parr felt the Rylands performance at lowly Billinge was a good response to defeat at home to champions Garswood.

Mike Southern, Joel Brownhill and Ben Latham bagged the goals, while manager Parr was pleased with the contributions from bench players Tony James, Andrew Williams and Greg Freeman in the Cheshire Premier Division win.

“I thought we looked a real threat with some intelligent movement off the ball and created some excellent chances,” he said.

“It was also pleasing to see the lads who came on do so well and we have competition for places in every position now which is ideal.”

Southern scored following excellent build-up play from Latham before Rylands keeper Andy Moor turned away Rob Ablewhite’s angled drive.

Moments later an excellent through ball from Jennings was turned past the advancing keeper by Brownhill.

Billinge, enjoying their best spell, pulled a goal back on 53 minutes when Ablewhite tapped home.

The game was sealed with 10 minutes remaining when Latham headed home an Andy Williams cross.

Rylands: Moor, Finch, Gibson, Sinker, Dykes, Wilson (Freeman 82mins), Lowe, Latham, Brownhill, Jennings (James 67mins), Southern (Williams 78mins).
