PADGATE campus men's football first team caused a shock as a 1-0 win at league leaders Lancaster gave them their first victory of the season, writes Ashley Thornton-Jones.
Skipper James Beer struck for the visitors, who could move to within one point of safety with a win against Liverpool Hope in their next game.
Elsewhere, the third team were held 2-2 by Bolton, their third draw in four games this season, while the women’s team lost 5-0 to Chester.
In other sports, men’s rugby union enjoyed a 40-19 success against MMU, but the women’s netball team could not prevent a 48-28 defeat to Edge Hill.
