Warrington 3rd 30 Didsbury Toc H 2nd 10
WARRINGTON’S third team returned to winning ways to put pressure on their Macclesfield counterparts at the top of North West League Division Two South.
“Although our backs took all the glory, they owe a debt of gratitude to the forwards,” said manager Lea Graham.
“Steve Tickle had the highest tackle count I’ve ever seen, Dan Johnstone was everywhere and Tom Stubbs was solid up-front.”
Mark Tickle grabbed the first of his three tries to open the scoring, soon following up with a second from Matt Drinkwater’s pass.
Didsbury drew level with a penalty and converted try, but a Drinkwater penalty and scores for Dan Reid, Craig Davis and Tickle followed.
