GOLFER Tom Murray says it is time to work even harder now that he has earned his maiden European Tour card.

The 24-year-old from Lymm will make his Tour bow in the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek in South Africa next week.

Ex-Lymm High School student Murray earned his place through Qualifying School after two seasons on the Challenge Tour.

“I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited but not getting carried away,” said the son of ex-European Cup winner, Andrew Murray.

“It’s a good opportunity to kick on. Work starts now, it’s not time to sit back and pat myself on the back.

“It’s time to get my head down, graft and work harder.”

Murray will head back to England for Christmas and jet out to the South Africa Open in January for his second tournament.
