WARRINGTON women’s first team got back to winning ways with a hard fought 2-0 win over Neston seconds.

Emma Barlow put them ahead inside three minutes and doubled the lead after a great flick on from Sally Froggatt.

Carrie Wright and Sarah Milner in defence helped ensure a clean sheet.

The women’s second team beat Neston thirds 2-1 to stay joint top of Division Five on points with only goal difference separating the three sides.

Emma Frew and Becky Miller scored the goals while Vicky Stout was voted Player of the Match for the second game running.

The men’s first team earned a 5-5 draw at Didsbury fourths thanks to a late equaliser from captain Tom Yates.

Rob Powell opened the scoring with a flicked finish before Ben Vickers completed his hat-trick.

The men’s second team maintained their push for promotion with a 2-0 win over Northop Hall. Gavin Brown was on the mark twice to move him further ahead as the team’s leading scorer.

Lymm ladies’ first team enjoyed a 4-2 win over Oldham.

The hosts took the lead whenAlex Pepper found Meg Wilkin, who finished coolly but Oldham sought a quick reply.

A penalty corner immediately as the second half began set the tone for another period where Lymm dominated but could not score.

Oldham were lively on the break and Amy Heywood made some vital saves before an interchange of passes from Ellie Anderson, Hollie Acklam and Lisa Hartley-Woodrow led to Wilkin slotting home.

Oldham scored a penalty flick almost immediately, but Lymm pressed for a winner and at another penalty corner Wilkin got the vital touch and Lymm could celebrate.

Hartley-Woodrow stepped up when an effort from Helen Weston was stopped on the line with a foot and the captain secured the win by converting the penalty flick to help Lymm stay top of the table.

The seconds beat their Macclesfield counterparts 2-1, while the thirds saw off Oxton seconds 5-0 and the fourth team were 3-0 winners against Macclesfield thirds. The fifths beat Bowdon 4-0.

For Lymm men’s, the seconds won 2-1 at Deeside and thirds enjoyed a 5-2 success over Sale.
