Prescot 0 Lymm 2

LYMM ground out a tough 2-0 win at Prescot on Saturday to continue their 100 per cent record in North Territorial Women’s Hockey League South West Division Two.

The girls were left frustrated for a lot of the first half with efforts from Hollie Aklam, Lisa Hartley-Woodrow and Megan Wilkin coming closest to breaking the deadlock.

The second half was much more domineering by Lymm and they eventually got their reward when Aklam came up with her first goal of the season.

Five minutes later Lymm found themselves 2-0 up when Wilkin capitalised on a poor 'keeper decision when Ashleigh Jackson drove the ball down the left and pulled the ball back for Wilkin.

Lymm kept possession well to close the game out and earned a hard-fought three points.

Lymm 2nd 1 Oswestry 0

LYMM scraped a win over Oswestry despite looking a shadow of the team of previous weeks.

The home team had the majority of the pressure, although Oswestry were dangerous on the break, catching the Lymm defence off guard on a couple of occasions.

The single goal came from Alison Fearn, after a great run up the pitch by Aoife Davenport followed by an insightful run by Cerys Anderson, who passed back to the centre where the ball was fed into the D for Fearn to convert.

The Lymm second team are now sitting top of the table on goal difference.
