WOOLSTON Rovers’ disappointing season came to an end with a 24-14 defeat at home to Eastmoor Dragons in Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three on Saturday.
Eastmoor opened the scoring before Rovers responded well with hooker Josh Sudlow managing to stretch over in the right corner.
Both sides were then temporarily reduced to 12 men when Sam Vernon was involved in a flare-up with an Eastmoor winger.
Eastmoor stretched their advantage and Rovers went in 16-4 down at the interval.
Two more tries from substitute Bobby McGregor and Vernon kept Rovers in the game but going down to 11 men due to Chris Mellor and Paul Alcock’s yellow cards made it difficult for the home side, who look set to finish third from bottom.
