LATCHFORD’S promotion charge gathered momentum with a convincing 35-8 home victory over Woolston A in North West Men’s League Division Two on Saturday.
The hosts started strongly and two tries from Jake Ashton got them up and running.
Woolston hit back with a try from 16-year-old debutant Olly Parr, but a strong run from Liam Kennedy restored Albion’s advantage to turn around 16-4 in front.
Like the first half, Latchford started strongly and Kennedy crossed the whitewash again before Josh Bray scored a consolation for Rovers.
A Danny Brown drop goal, a Cameron Davies try and a hat-trick score from Kennedy rounded off the win for the Victoria Park outfit.
