RAIN meant that Warrington had to settle for a draw against Stockport in the Cheshrie County Division Two on Saturday.

Kyle Adams, 28, and Liam Heaphy, 27, got Warrington off to a good start before a well-crafted 37 from Joel Chaderton, batting at seven, saw the Warrington innings closed at 145 all out.

Warrington’s opening attack of Ashley Scholes, 3 for 6, and Kyle Adams, 3 for 34, tormented Stockport’s batsmen with the home side at 90 for 8 before heavy rain settled the match with a draw.

Warrington seconds’ hopes of promotion were dashed when they were beaten by Stockport in the Second XI Division One on Saturday after a disastrous batting performance.
