Latchford 28 Rylands 22
LATCHFORD Albion claimed bragging rights with a hard fought 28-22 victory over promotion rivals Rylands Sharks in the North West Men’s League Division One on Saturday.
The hosts got off to a great start with two quick tries from Dave Levenston and the returning Liam Kennedy.
Lewis Wightman was next to score following a fantastic 60-yard solo effort and on the stroke of half time Levenston doubled his tally to give Latchford an 18-0 lead.
Two Latchford players were sin-binned within three minutes of the restart and Rylands capitalised by scoring four times in quick succession to take the lead.
Albion were soon level again when Jake Ashton crossed in the corner and with time running out, Adam Wood crossed for the winning try.
