ST ELPHINS No1 sealed the Warrington Public Parks’ Bowls League title with a 190-134 victory over Stockton Heath No2.

Joe Maher steered them on the way with a 21-6 success, while Eric Lafferty replied with a 21-7 card.

Second placed Stockton Heath No3 recorded a 175-174 victory over Victoria No1, with the best wins coming from Tim Kenyon, 21-5, and Dennis Hunt, 21-11. Alan Steele fought back 21-5 win.

Wins from Joe Shaw, 21-9, and Geoff Bourne, 21-11, helped St Elphins No2 to a 180-171 success over Penketh Park, with Ged Percival, Fred Ford and Brian Shaw all sharing the Penketh sweep with 21-11 wins.

Stockton Heath No1 recorded a 188-174 victory over Victoria New Town, their shining lights being John Corless, 21-9, and Rob Pye, 21-12. Phil Brown was New Town’s best performer, 21-13.
