BRILLIANT games unfolded during the Warrington Borough Junior Bowls Club finals day.

Louis Allen, Maro Gibson, Daniel Bennett, Mike Roberts, Joe Yule, Ben Ashurst, Jayden Carroll, Amy Mackintosh, Dylan Wright and Mat Gatley won singles events.

Mike Yule and Alex Garcia along with Luke Gatley and Jack Penketh came out on top in pairs competitions.

The clubs’ A Division champion, Allen, won the champion of champions’ battle against the B Division winner, Sophie Bishop.

Gibson, the club’s C Division champion, continued his rise through the ranks winning the Margaret Hodgson Memorial Trophy by defeating the D Division champion Millie Yule 21-17 and the Ron Green Trophy by overcoming Calel Parker 21-14.

Bennett became the inaugural winner of the Keith Fowles Trophy, which was open to juniors aged 21 and under, with a 21-16 win over Adam Lea.

Roberts collected the Les Green Merit by beating Jack Penketh 21-12 and the Orford War Memorial Merit by defeating George Yule 21-8.

Joe Yule captured the Ken Wightman Cup with a 21-18 victory against Ashurst, who made up for that by winning the Lilian Green Trophy thanks to a 21-14 victory against Garcia.

Carroll defeated Lewis Stanley 21-12 to win the Newcomers’ Merit but was defeated 21-15 by Amy Mackintosh in the Junior Supplementary Final.

The Irene Parfit Pairs competition was won by Mike Yule and Garcia, who beat Joe Yule and Robert Mills 21-14.

Wight defeated Chloe Mackintosh 21-12 in the Junior League Supplementary competition and Mat Gatley defeated Mike Williams 21-7 in the Youth Supplementary.

Luke Gatley and Jack Penketh defeated Mike Yule and George Yule 21-13 to win the Felicity Farrell Pairs.

Before the finals, six sets of Taylors’ coloured bowls provided by the Cheshire County Bowling Association were presented to the club by the game’s number-one player Greame Wilson.
