A WARRINGTON Collegiate student kicked off the Commonwealth Games in an exhibition tournament.
James Jones, from Orford, was in the Scotland under 19s squad for the Nines Rugby League Commonwealth Championship.
The 17-year-old second rower said: “It’s great to have been picked to represent Scotland because rugby is my first love.
“It’s really important to me as there’s a big family history. My dad and granddad have both played for local teams, and we are all keen supporters of Warrington Wolves.”
Papa New Guinea were the eventual winners.
