Thursday, May 8th
YESTERDAY'S nap was backed down from 5/1 in the morning before doing the business nicely at 9/4 and hopefully we can keep up the winning run today when Chester again stages the most valuable card, with the Chester Vase at 2.45 the feature event. This looks a bit tricky with Sir Michael Stoute, Barry Hills and John Gosden all saddling strong contenders, along with the in-form Aidan O'Brien whose Vivaldi just gets my vote.
For the nap though I am going for the Michael Jarvis-trained, Royalist in the next at Chester, the 3.15, to follow up his Doncaster maiden success last month.
Selections
Chester: 2.45 Vivaldi 3.15 Royalist (nap)
Goodwood: 2.30 Smokey Storm 4.10 Albaraari
Wincanton: 7.20 Woolcombe Folly 7.50 Saint Romble
Great Leighs: 5.40 Wind Flow
