TOWN booked a home tie with North West Counties Premier Division outfit Maine Road FC in the next round of qualifying for the 2012/13 FA Cup following a comfortable 3-0 against old rivals Atherton Laburnum Rovers at Crilly Park.
A goal of the season contender from Kevin Townson, who controlled on his chest before lashing a dipping volley in from 30 metres, got Town underway before Rob Hardwick added a second before half time.
Town were never likely to let slip such a strong position and they continued to control the game in the second half, Joe Driscoll reaching a sumptuous Dogan throughball before the Atherton keeper to wrap up a comfortable victory.
