Warrington Town do deal to land Peter Dogun from Barrow

WARRINGTON Town manager Shaun Reid has secured the signing of Peter Dogun from Conference outfit Barrow.

Midfielder Dogun, aged 27, impressed Reid during Barrow's pre-season friendly against Warrington at Cantilever Park when the visitors ran out 3-1 winners.

Dogun, who previously had two seasons at Chester City in the Conference has joined Town on a one year contract.

Warrington fought off competition from a number of of Conference clubs to secure his signature.

Welcoming the 6ft 4 player to the club, Reid said:"I am delighted that a player of Dogun's calibre has agreed to join Warrington Town.

"He was probably the best player on the pitch when we played Barrow and will bring a lot of strength to our midfield."

Dogun could make his debut for Town in this Saturday's Peace Cup match with Crewe United from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, kick off 3pm.

Town are also in action next Tuesday evening when they welcome Colwyn Bay from the Blue Square Bet North league to Cantilever Park, kick off 7.45pm followed by the visit of an Everton X1 on Saturday August 11, kick off now brought forward to 2pm, to avoid a clash with Warrington Wolves' match with Wigan Warriors.
