PAUL Carden says Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Mickleover Sports was a demonstration of the “character and togetherness” in his Warrington Town side.

Having fallen behind to Evan Garnett’s goal, Yellows roared back with Brad Barnes, Sean Williams and Tony Gray hitting the target.

The result took their unbeaten run in all competitions to five games and Carden was pleased to emerge victorious from a clash which saw “two good teams on show.”

“We were very good and we deserved the win,” he said.

“We started really well, but then they came into the game a bit more and scored a well-worked goal.

“Once we weathered that little period, we finished the first half strong, deservedly equalised and could have had a couple more.

“We were well on top with chances but you could see it was two good teams on show.

“They came at us in the second half but we weathered it and after that we looked strong.

We attacked in numbers, we were working the ball up the pitch and making the most of our possession.

“The whole performance was about the team and that’s what pleased me the most.

“The character and togetherness in the team was epitomised on Saturday.”
