WARRINGTON Town are on the road for the first time this season tonight as they head north to take on Lancaster City.

Paul Carden’s Yellows make the journey up the M6 in positive mood after opening the campaign with a 2-0 home win over Rushall Olympic on Saturday.

However, they come up against a side who won the Evo-Stik First Division North title last season, just as Town had done in the previous campaign.

TEAM NEWS:

CARDEN has no new injury problems ahead of the game, with defenders Jack Higgins and Shaun Beeley (both knee) and midfielder Ged Kinsella (back) still unavailable.

The likes of Mwasile, Dylan Vassallo and Bradley Barnes could well be pushing for starts in midfield having come off the bench on Saturday.

Yellows have also brought in reinforcements in the shape of Caleb Richards, who joins on a month-long youth loan from League One side Blackpool.

Richards, who came off the bench for the Tangerines during their recent Carabao Cup tie at Wigan, is comfortable at left-back or on the left wing and is expected to be among the substitutes tonight.

However, the club are still waiting on international clearance for centre-half Phil Baker, who looks set to join from Welsh side The New Saints.

A LOOK AT THE OPPOSITION:

AFTER their title-winning promotion, Lancaster also got their season off to a flyer on Saturday.

They fell behind early at Buxton, but goals from Samuel Bailey and Oliver Wood earned them a 2-1 victory.

There will be a couple of familiar faces in the Dolly Blues team, particularly winger Scott Harries, who spent last season at Cantilever Park.

Ryan Winder, a midfielder brought to the club by former co-managers Stuart Mellish and Lee Smith, also turns out for Lancaster.
