WARRINGTON Town boss Paul Carden has spoken about his latest new recruits as his squad continues to take shape.

Yellows confirmed four more signings after yesterday’s 3-1 friendly victory over Welsh Premier Division side Airbus UK.

Rory McKeown, Liam Hynes, Bradley Barnes and Abou Sanogo will all form part of Carden’s squad as they kick off the new Evo-Stik Premier Division season against Rushall Olympic on Saturday.

“Liam’s energy, covering and breaking-up of play in central midfield is everything we never had last year,” the Yellows boss said.

“He’s got a great attitude, of a good age and he’ll be key for us this season.

“Rory has had opportunities to go in at clubs higher up, but things haven’t materialised for him.

“He’s got quality and now he just needs to get his head down.

“Chances will come to him if he’s performing well, everyone is getting watched all the time.

“He needs to focus on the job in hand which is being part of a mean defence and keeping clean sheets for us.”

Sanogo, an imposing figure at 6ft 3in tall, got on the scoresheet against Airbus along with Connor Hughes and Jay McCarten.

Carden says aerial ability is not the only weapon in Sanogo’s armoury.

“Abou has a lot of good attributes, what we need to do is hone them and bring them together,” he said.

“He can actually pass the ball, even if he looks a bit ungainly at times.

“His fitness can improve but he’s a young lad that wants to have a go.”
