WARRINGTON Town boss Paul Carden says his side “fully deserved” their 1-0 victory over Halesowen Town this afternoon.

Danny Hattersley’s goal on the stroke of half time earned Yellows the three points at Cantilever Park.

Speaking after the game, however, Carden believes his side should have won more comfortably.

On the other hand, the Yellows boss was thankful to keeper Tony McMillan, who made a crucial save late on to deny the visitors a share of the spoils.

“We said at half-time that the worst we would do was win 1-0,” he said.

“Chances wise, I’ve lost count of how many good ones we had in the second half. We had four or five at least, we played some really good football and completely controlled the game.

“Teams sometimes do have a spell, or at least a shot which is what they had but that’s why you have a good goalkeeper like Tony.

“He’s not had a lot to do all game but he’s made a couple of good saves. Other than that, they’ve not really laid a glove on us and we’ve fully deserved our victory.”
