WARRINGTON Town have continued their preparations for the new season with a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Widnes FC.
Kevin Towey’s penalty and a further goal from Darrhyl Mason gave the hosts a two-goal lead at the Select Security Stadium before Lewis Codling replied for the Yellows in the second half.
That followed a 2-1 win at Rhyl on Saturday as second-half goals from new signings James Dean and Scott Harries secured a win for Stuart Mellish’s side.
The next pre-season test for Town comes on Saturday as they take on Crewe FC in the annual Peace Cup match at Cantilever Park, kick off 3pm.
