WARRINGTON Town remain on course for a Championship party on Saturday after Spennymoor Town's latest win tonight.

Had Town's nearest rivals Spennymoor failed to win at Mossley this evening, the Yellows would have been out of reach and confirmed as champions.

But as it is, Spennymoor won 3-1 and Stuart Mellish's men still need a point.

They have the opportunity to complete the mission in front of their own fans when Prescot Cables visit Cantilever Park on Saturday.

Town will be presented with the silverware on Saturday if they avoid defeat to the St Helens club.

The match has been an all-ticket affair, with 700 tickets of the 2,000 available now sold.

Sales are expected to rise rapidly between now and Friday - the last day to be able to ensure a place at what could be an historic day.

Winning the title will also mean promotion to the highest level of football at which Town have played for the 2016-2017 season.

Tickets will be on sale in the social club at the Loushers Lane ground in Latchford from 2pm to 10pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and then finally on Friday between 8am and 8pm.
