WARRINGTON Town chairman Toby Macormac has started a revamp of the club's reserve set up.

He hopes to create a platform for the best young, primarily local, talent to prove themselves.

Steve Hayes, former Warrington Schoolboys' manager, moves up from the club's youth team to take the helm.

He will be assisted by Darron Bibby, a former Schoolboys' manager, and Andy McCann.

Brian Butler joins as secretary and Tristan Kavanagh as physio.

The reserves will retain former Town youth strikers Chris Bandell and Dylan Glass, along with youth team graduates including Josh Kavanagh and Chris Bibby.

Last season's FA County Youth Cup winners Cheshire ncluded five members of Town's youth team.

Of those, Niall Ford and Ben Collins saw first-team action with the Yellows in the Evo Stik North Division One.

Another coup is the return of former Burnley goalkeeper Josh Cook, who played for Burnley in the FA Youth Cup semi-finals before crowds of 10,000 in both legs, and had a run of clean sheets for Town two seasons ago.

Steve's squad is now well into pre-season training. He cannot wait to defend the Peace Cup on behalf of the town in August before aiming to bounce back up the league at the first time of asking.
