WARRINGTON Town’s FA Cup run is already paying dividends for next season, says boss Shaun Reid.
“You can’t put a price on the exposure the club’s got from the FA Cup,” said Reid, whose side reached the second round for the first time in their history.
Fans packed out Cantilever Park to witness the Yellows knock League Two Exeter City out in the first round, broadcast live on BBC.
The Yellows were back in front of a national audience in round two when they travelled to Gateshead, a game shown on BT Sport, and reaped the rewards despite defeat.
“I’ve been doing some work on pre-season friendlies and it’s much easier to get league clubs to come and talk to you," added Reid.
“I was speaking with the chairman about whether we would swap the FA Cup run for promotion this season; we both said we wouldn’t.
“It secures the future of the club to be challenging year in, year out. The aim is to be progressive and it’s enabled us to attract a different calibre of player.
“It’s given us a really firm foundation to propel this club forward.”
