Newcomers make all the difference as pressure builds for Warrington Town

WARRINGTON Town manager Shaun Reid will hope his new signings continue to impress when his side welcome Evo-Stik Division One North strugglers Wakefield on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
Following prolific striker Josh Hine’s debut goal against Goole AFC last week, Reid needs his new-look strike force of Ciaran Kilheeney and the former Skelmersdale forward to gel as the Yellows continue their chase of a play-off spot.

HINE wasted no time in making an impact for his new club as they resumed their league campaign following a weather-enforced three week break against struggling Goole at a windswept Victoria Pleasure Ground. Partnering his newest signing alongside goal-machine Kilheeney proved to be a decisive move for Reid, as Town lurched towards a deserved three-point haul.
Hine struck within 10 minutes when he swivelled to lash home John Miles’ excellent cross, and despite dominating proceedings Town were eventually indebted to Kilheeny for his match-winner after the hosts had drawn level against the run of play in the second half.
Town: Robertson, Say (Doran, 46), Davies, Mooney, Doran (c), McCarten, Miles (Newby, 61), McLachlan Ruane, 72), Kilheeney, Josh Hine (d), Lee Parle.
