DAVID Ngog, Nabil El Zhar and Philipp Degen all start for Liverpool Reserves in their final game of the season at the Halliwell Jones Stadium tonight, kick off 7pm.

The young trio will be hoping to help Gary Ablett's side finish a disappointing season on a high, as the Reds take on Newcastle United.

Currently sitting 10th, a win could see them finish as high as seventh in 11-team Barclays Premier Reserve League North if other results go their way.

But Liverpool could still also finish bottom, with 11th place Hull City currently level on points with a game in hand.

Both Ngog and El Zhar have featured regularly for the first team this season, although the young pair are predominantly used off the bench.

El Zhar has featured as a substitute in both Liverpool's last two games, while Ngog's last appearance came as a late replacement for Fernando Torres in the sensational 4-4 Champions League semi final second leg draw with Chelsea.

France under 21 international Ngog also scored in the Reds' 4-0 Premier League victory against Blackburn three weeks ago.

Degen, meanwhile, made his comeback from a groin strain as a substitute in the Reserves' last league game, a 2-1 win against Hull City.

The Swiss full back has been plagued by injury since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
